ENERGIA is a new network/newsletter initiative on women and energy. It
will cover a whole range of energy issues, not only household biomass use but
particulary areas where women¹s roles are less recognized. The Energy,
Environment and Women Network is looking for members to join the network, to

IPSI, a part of the University of Connecticut, will be launching its
Gender in Development Planning and Management Programme in June 1996. The
programme is designed for top- and middle-level managers of development projects
in which women are active both as participants and planners. The programme
covers topics such as Gender Analysis Framework, Project Appraisal &
Evaluation, and Leadership and Communication. A Certificate of Professional
Development will be awarded to all participants who successfully complete the
programme. The programme will be offered every June. For further details,
